9 ½ x 8 ¾
Fine orange, coral, and golden-yellow lines form a lace-like network across the deep blue surface of this decorative wood hollow form. Its broad, rounded shoulders taper toward a small base and an irregular opening, with a sweeping black border extending from the rim around a large side void.
The intricate exterior texture recalls cooled lava traced with lingering heat. Small, closely fitted shapes shift in size and direction around the curves, while scattered openings interrupt the pattern and reveal glimpses of exposed wood. Smooth black areas provide a bold contrast to the detailed surface, linking the rim, side opening, and dark interior.
A one-of-a-kind work of decorative wood art, this piece balances delicate detail with a strong sculptural presence. Displayed on a console or pedestal, it offers both an arresting silhouette and a surface worth exploring up close.
