9 ½ x 8 ¾
Bands of vivid blue, violet, and rose pink rise across this carved and painted decorative wood bowl. A narrow base supports its rounded body and flared upper edge, where sweeping peaks and dips create a dramatic, uneven silhouette.
Closely spaced vertical grooves follow the bowl’s contours, with bright color tracing the ridges above dark recesses. Short offsets in the carving give the surface a layered, striated appearance, connecting the horizontal color bands with the upward movement of the texture. A small irregular opening near the rim reveals warm wood along its edge, while the smooth black interior provides a quiet contrast.
Handcrafted as one-of-a-kind decorative art, this piece combines the colors of a twilight sky with a rugged, landscape-like surface. Display it on a console or open shelf to show the changing rim profile and intricate carving.
